Noronex has announced a significant 500-meter step-out drill intercept of 33 meters at 1.1% CuEq at the Fiesta Copper Project, strengthening its potential as a promising copper-silver deposit.
The company said the ongoing drilling campaign at Fiesta continues to produce encouraging results, with multiple steeply dipping sheets of mineralisation now mapped over a 4.5-kilometer stretch.
“These mineralised zones align with several shear structures in the area, indicating strong geological continuity.The copper mineralisation is primarily hosted as disseminated chalcocite within shales and siltstones of the D’Kar sediments, where visual identification in drill chips remains challenging. Minor oxidation to malachite has been observed in shallower sections, typically associated with lower silver content.”
Noronex Chief Geologist Bruce Hooper expressed optimism about the latest results.
“Extending the Fiesta mineralisation by over half a kilometre with such impressive copper and silver results right to the end of the hole is a major step forward in defining the potential size of this system,” Hooper said.
“Our next step will be to undertake diamond drilling to test the full width and style of mineralisation, as well as seeking to further extend the strike as the system remains completely open to the west.”
The drilling program is supported by funding from the South32 earn-in agreement, which has enabled the completion of 19 Reverse Circulation (RC) drill holes at the site. The Fiesta Project is situated at the western closure of a domal structure along the key NPF-D’Kar geological contact.
Recent findings at Fiesta show notable similarities to copper deposits in Botswana, particularly the Khoemacau Copper Project, located over 400 kilometers to the east.
