Galp has appointed former NAMCOR executive Saave Nakashole as Deputy Country Manager for Public and Operational Affairs in Namibia.
Nakashole joins Galp after spending 14 years at the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (NAMCOR), where she held several technical and strategic roles in the upstream oil and gas sector.
During her tenure at NAMCOR, she was involved in subsurface evaluations, asset assessments, upstream growth initiatives and the evaluation of commercial opportunities.
She also worked closely with government institutions, international oil companies and joint venture partners, and served as a board member of the Namibian Petroleum Operators Association (NAMPOA).
In her new role, Nakashole will oversee Galp Namibia’s public and operational affairs, supporting the company’s engagement with government and other key stakeholders while contributing to the development of its operations in the country.
Galp said the appointment reflects its commitment to strengthening local expertise, deepening institutional collaboration and supporting the responsible development of Namibia’s energy sector.
The appointment comes as Namibia’s offshore oil and gas industry continues to attract significant international investment following a series of major discoveries in the Orange Basin.
A geoscientist by profession, Nakashole holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology and Environmental Science from the University of Namibia, a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Geology from Rhodes University, and a Master’s degree in Petroleum Geosciences from Heriot-Watt University.
She also holds a Project Management certificate and has completed the Senior Management Development Programme at Stellenbosch University.
