First Gentleman General Denga Ndaitwah has officially accepted the role of Patron of the Namibia Youth Energy Forum (NYEF), a youth-led platform focused on the country’s energy sector.

The Forum described the appointment as a strong show of support from the Presidency and a clear sign that young Namibians are being recognised as central to the country’s energy transition.

“This is more than symbolic — it’s a signal to every young Namibian that their voice matters, their ideas are valid, and their leadership is needed now,” said Miguel Hamutenya, Chairperson of NYEF’s Advisory Board.

General Ndaitwah praised the initiative and said he supports platforms that promote national development. His endorsement is expected to help NYEF grow its influence and strengthen partnerships across the public and private sectors.

Founded and led by young professionals, NYEF provides a platform for youth engagement in the country’s energy sector, including oil and gas, hydrogen, and renewable energy.

The forum promotes skills development, policy input, and innovation, aiming to ensure that young Namibians are not only involved but lead in shaping the future of the industry.
