Trigon Metals Inc. has announced the completion of a drone-based aeromagnetic survey at its Kalahari Copper Project in Namibia, which has identified several highly prospective exploration targets to guide the company’s upcoming drilling programme.
The survey, carried out over areas covered by thick Kalahari sand, employed advanced geophysics and 3D data inversion to pinpoint structures with potential for copper mineralisation. Among the key targets highlighted are the Heimat Fold Closure and Bushman Dome, both situated near Noronex Limited’s Fiesta-Fortuna Prospect.
“Our work at the Kalahari Copper Project has now moved beyond early-stage reconnaissance to a targeted strategy based on detailed geophysics,” said Trigon’s Chief Executive and Executive Chairman, Jed Richardson.
“The survey results have given us a clear picture of where the most prospective structures lie, and we’re now positioned to advance towards drilling with a high degree of confidence. This is an exciting step forward as we unlock value from a district that continues to demonstrate world-class potential.”
Trigon’s Vice President for Exploration, Andreas Rompel, said the interpretation of the survey data confirmed the presence of domal features and stratigraphic contacts between the Ngwako Pan and D’Kar formations, both widely recognised as hosts of major deposits across the Kalahari Copper Belt.
“The geological data strongly indicate folding along an axis trending WSW. In addition, a clear contact between two significant lithologies has been identified, which delineates a compelling drill target,” Rompel said. “We are excited to advance the next phases of exploration on what we believe is a highly prospective and prolific project.”
Trigon Metals, a Canadian-listed company, is focused on copper and silver projects in Africa, with assets in both Namibia and Morocco.
