Global inspection and testing firm Alfred H Knight (AHK) is marking ten years of operations in Namibia, where it provides services to the mining and agricultural sectors.
The company, which opened its Namibian offices in 2014, operates from hubs in Walvis Bay and Lüderitz. It offers services including weighing, sampling and moisture determination for mineral concentrates, radiation monitoring, and vessel loading supervision.
AHK also carries out Flow Moisture Point (FMP) and Transportable Moisture Limit (TML) testing to ensure compliance with international shipping standards.
In agriculture, AHK supports traders and processors by verifying the quantity, quality and traceability of grains, oilseeds and feedstuffs.
The company said this helps ensure contract compliance and strengthens supply chains across Southern Africa.
“This milestone reflects our dedication to quality and the enduring trust of our clients. Over the years, we’ve developed local expertise, strengthened our capacity, and supported trade operations vital to Namibia’s economic growth,” Country Manager Moses Pius said.
The anniversary coincides with AHK’s acquisition of UK-based Grinding Solutions Limited (GSL), which specialises in mineral processing and metallurgical consultancy.
The company said the deal would expand AHK Namibia’s service offering, particularly in test work design and process optimisation.
“AHK Namibia’s growth is a testament to our commitment to operational excellence and local engagement. We help clients manage risk and maintain quality at every stage of the supply chain,” Maxime Francois, Regional General Manager for Africa and the Middle East said.
AHK said it would continue investing in people, technology and infrastructure to support its clients and Namibia’s export industry.
Established in 1881, AHK operates in over 40 countries, serving the metals, minerals and solid fuels sectors.
