Bannerman Energy has appointed Danie van Aswegen as Chief Executive Officer of Bannerman Mining Resources Namibia, as the company prepares to begin full-scale construction of its Etango Uranium Project in the Erongo Region.

Van Aswegen, who had been serving as interim CEO, takes up the position following the company’s final investment decision on the uranium project, which is expected to begin production in 2028.

He has served as Bannerman’s Chief Operating Officer in Namibia since October 2025 and brings more than 25 years of experience in mining, engineering, project management and technology development.

“Bannerman is also pleased to advise of the appointment of Mr Danie van Aswegen as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bannerman Mining Resources Namibia,” the company said.

“Danie has held the role of Chief Operating Officer (Namibia) for Bannerman since October 2025. With more than 25 years of experience in the mining industry, he has a broad and proven skill set spanning mining, engineering, project management and technology development.”

Before joining Bannerman, Van Aswegen served as Head of Projects and Technology Development and was a member of the executive committee at Debmarine Namibia.

During his tenure at Debmarine, he was involved in delivering major mining projects and integrating new technologies into the company’s operations.

His appointment follows Bannerman Energy and its joint venture partner, CNNC Overseas Limited, taking a positive final investment decision on the Etango Uranium Project, clearing the way for construction activities to begin over the coming months.

The project is expected to produce an average of approximately 3.5 million pounds of uranium oxide annually, with commissioning and first production targeted for 2028.

Van Aswegen will lead Bannerman’s Namibian operations as the company transitions from project development to full-scale construction.

Bannerman said his experience in major project delivery would complement that of the group’s Managing Director and CEO, Gavin Chamberlain, who has extensive experience in construction, engineering and project management.

Chamberlain previously served as Project Director for the development of Namibia’s US$2 billion Husab Uranium Mine, one of the world’s largest operating uranium mines.

“Danie’s major projects leadership expertise is complemented by that of Bannerman’s Managing Director and CEO, Gavin Chamberlain,” the company said.

Bannerman Energy is an Australian-listed uranium development company focused on the Etango Uranium Project in Namibia.

The company is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) and Namibian Stock Exchange (NSX), and its shares are traded on the OTCQX Market in the United States.
