Andrada Mining has signed an Ore Supply and Profit-Sharing Agreement with Goantagab Mining, securing up to 240,000 tonnes of high-grade tin ore per year from Namibia’s Kunene Region.

Anthony Viljoen, CEO of Andrada Mining, said the ore, which has a minimum tin grade of 1.5%, will supply the company’s new 100-tonne-per-hour jig plant currently under construction at Uis.

The plant is expected to be commissioned in the second half of 2025.

“This collaboration reaffirms our strategy of creating a critical-minerals district in Erongo.High-grade feedstock and new processing capacity will lift throughput and margins, enhancing Namibia’s role in the global energy-transition supply chain,” Viljoen said.

The agreement is expected to fast-track Andrada’s production ramp-up and improve profit margins by ensuring a steady supply of quality ore.

According to the company, profits from the ore will first go towards repaying plant-related debt, after which profits will be shared equally between Andrada’s Uis Tin Mining Company and Goantagab Mining.

As part of the agreement, Andrada has secured an option to acquire 100% of Goantagab Mining, subject to the fulfilment of key conditions, including licence conversions.

The Kunene site has historic exploration data, including over 20,000 metres of drilling and a non-JORC compliant resource estimate of 2 million tonnes at an average grade of 0.95% tin, with some areas showing grades of up to 1.75%.

Andrada is also making progress on the construction of the new jig plant at its Uis mine.

The company said the front-end crushing circuit has been delivered to site, fabrication of key components is underway, and civil works have been completed. Initial production is expected in the second half of 2025.

Components for the pre-concentration circuit, including Metso crushers and ore sorters according to Andrada, have also arrived and will be installed after modifications to the existing systems.

In addition, the company reported solid operational results for the first quarter ending 31 May 2025.

Ore processed at Uis rose by 7% year-on-year to 254,745 tonnes, supported by upgrades to the Dense Media Separation (DMS) circuit and the installation of new shaking tables under its Continuous Improvement 2 (CI2) programme.

Andrada Mining, formerly known as Afritin Mining, is a Namibia-based company focused on the production of technology minerals.
